First 5 steps towards building a presence on Web 2.0

1. Buy a Domain and some hosting and Put a Website Up
-Write lots of good content.  You have to prove you know what you’re talking about and Google likes it.
-At the very least capture your visitors E-mail adress
-Do all the SEO basics to give yourself a chance to get indexed by the search engines well.
-Submit your site (with sitemaps) to the big search engines and directories and eventually take advantage of all the Internet Marketing options available to you.

2. If you haven’t already, get on Facebook and LinkedIn
-Create a group on both of them related to your industry.  Make a Page on Facebook for your business.
-Get active in the groups that are related to your industry. Answer as many questions as possible and make lots of  friends.
-Keep your own group regualarly updated and get some discussions going.

3. Buy some Google Adwords
-Track your traffic closely using Google Analytics and find out how what each click is worth. ( Profit from those clicks dvided by Total number of clicks or Profit/clicks )
-If that amount is higher than what Google charges you per click…Then buy more clicks!!!
-If not shop around to some affiliate management programs or check Yahoo Adwords

4. Start a Blog
-Update it regularly and set links to it from your Social Groups and you Webpage
-Try to keep your blogs lively and edgy. Consider creating your own video or importing it from YouTube, DailyMotion, Metacafe or any of these other video sites http://social-media-optimization.com/2008/03/top-10-video-sites/

5. Consider Local Online Advertising
- www.LocalAdAdvice.com is a great resource
- www.LocalAdLink.com/learn is probably your best very effective and you can make great money referring the company to others.
